Pineapples, São Miguel
It was interesting to learn about the growing process for the self-proclaimed "Best Pineapples in the World" at the Plantação de Ananás dos Açores. They were some of the smallest and sweetest we'd ever had, both plain and in the phenomenal flambeed pineapple (in a rum-cinnamon caramel sauce with vanilla ice cream sprinkled with lime peel) at their cafe.
