An unexpected treat during our trip with Hellenic Private Tours on the Greek mainland was a visit to the lovely 10th c. Byzantine Monastery of Hosios Loukas. I will admit to being a bit nonplussed to run into the skeletal remains of the Venerable Luke himself, which rest in a nook connecting the Church of the Panagia and the Katholikon.
