I finally got around to making a preview of the photos from our trip to Barbados in May 2016, and Jer was kind enough to share a bunch of his photos too. (For anyone interested in planning a trip to Barbados, we've included a few recommendations below.)

Things we would do again:

+ Harrison's Cave

+ Diving or snorkeling with sea turtles (if you're diving, go with Roger's)

+ Mount Gay tour

+ Oistins Fish Fry on Friday (eat at Fred's)

+ Happy hour at Castaways (or My Friend's Place, if Alex is playing)

+ Stay at the Meridian Inn (it's not fancy, but the location is great and the friendly service is top notch)

+ Eat at Irie for delicious, unpretentious Jamaican food and drinks (and if they warn you that something is spicy, believe them!)

+ Have a leisurely breakfast at Bliss and/or Happy Days in the Gap

Things we would do differently:

- Rather than weekend to weekend, visit from midweek to midweek, so you can shop at the public markets in Bridgetown on the first day

- Don't bother with happy hour at Cafe Sol; go to Castaways for cocktails or any of the rum huts at Dover Beach for beer

- For a meal at Dover Beach, Da Shak is okay, but Sea Ya is better (in particular, their fish cutter)
