Since we were nearby, we decided to stop by Boulder Beach at Lake Mead. The waters of the man-made lake were a surprising Caribbean blue, and we almost wished we'd brought swimsuits...but, with 114-degree temperatures, we're not sure even the water would have kept us cool for long!
