The ruins of this 14th century tower sit atop one of Inis Oirr's highest point, offering great views over Galway Bay and the Atlantic. Until the 16th century, the O'Brien clan ruled the Aran Islands, using their strategic importance to extract tributes from the Irish mainland. (Can you spot Jer in this picture?)
