Chillon Castle

It's not hard to see why Chillon Castle is one of Switzerland's most visited landmarks. The views are stunning both inside and out. Of course, there was the obligatory exhibit about the "Prisoner of Chillon" in the cellars (the prisoner, Bonivard, was described by Rousseau as "one who loved liberty, though he was a Savoyard, and who was tolerant, though he was a priest"), but otherwise the displays were focused on medieval life and on the castle's restoration in the early 20th century.
