Beyond Lake Mead, our helicopterpassed over mesas and crested a ridge, and suddenly we were looking down into the Grand Canyon. Even though it wasn't the deepest part of the gorge, the views were still spectacular! The Colorado River looked less rugged than I had imagined, but the dramatic rock formations and varied colors were amazing.
