St. Gobnait’s Church, Inis Oirr

stgobnaitschurchinisoirr.jpg

Although tiny and roofless, this 11th century church still has its indoor altar with a cross inscribed on a flat stone, as well as outdoor altars and the ruins of a small stone hermit's hut. Apparently St. Gobnait remains popular in western Ireland as the patron saint of beekeepers!
