For us, one of the more unexpected features of the Grand Palace was this model of Angkor Wat. Our tour guide, Tammy, explained that the Thai king Rama IV had installed in the Outer Court when Cambodia was part of the Thai empire, so that his subjects could appreciate its grandeur without the rigors of travel.
