We enjoyed a long, leisurely walk along the the Vinhas da Criação Velha trail through the vineyards south of Madalena. We took in the coastal views, stone walls, vineyards, flowers, birds, swimming beaches (the most reliable source of public bathrooms), and a restored grain mill, while learning about local history from the signs along the way.
