Fort Frederik, Frederiksted
Like its sister in Christiansted, Fort Frederik had an uneventful military career, followed by periods as a jail, courthouse, and — more surprisingly — telegraph office. Now it houses several small museums, displaying everything from sea glass and pottery, to slavery and rebellion, to moko jumbies, to 17th century commandant's furniture.
