Pylons of the Temple at Edfu

pylonsofthetempleatedfu.jpg

The Temple of Horus at Edfu was built by the Greek rulers of Egypt to honor the Egyptian falcon-god Horus, and is amazingly well preserved (having been buried in sand and rubble until the 19th c.). The pylons at Karnak are undecorated, making these seem even more impressive.
