The Jeanie Johnston, Dublin

thejeaniejohnstondublin.jpg

A replica of the Jeanie Johnston, a "famine ship" that carried over 2,500 Irish immigrants to the US and Canada during the Great Famine. The original vessel was unique because, even when she finally sank in the North Atlantic in 1858, no lives were ever lost aboard her, which is amazing when you go belowdecks and see the cramped quarters that the immigrants and crew endured.
