Outer Court at the Grand Palace, Bangkok
The sheer magnitude of the Grand Palace, combined with its enduring popularity, make it difficult to photograph. This is a picture in the Outer Court manages to include several of the highlights, with the statute of the hermit doctor (still revered as the father of herbal medicine) in the foreground, an ornately adorned building forming part of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha complex in the middle, and the imposing Golden Chedi in the background.
