Outer and Middle Courts at the Grand Palace, Bangkok
Like many palaces, the Grand Palace was expanded by several Thai kings since its founding by King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke (Rama I). While we expected that to result in a mix of architectural styles, somehow we weren't expecting to see a European building peeking out of the Middle Court. (We later learned that it was the Boromphiman Throne Hall, built by King Chulalongkorn around the same time as the Marble Temple.)
