Tartini Square, Piran
Piran's main square is dedicated to the composer Giuseppe Tartini, the town's most famous native son. The red house on the left is the Venetian House, built by an Italian merchant for his Slovenian mistress; the square plaque says "Let them talk" in the Venetian dialect. Since it was closed for restoration, we went into the yellow building on the right for a consolation prize: tasty chocolates.
