I found the interior of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, with its pink, green and gold decor and numerous cherubs, a bit shocking. Given its location in the middle of St. Petersburg's Peter and Paul Fortress, I was expecting something a bit more martial. Still, it's the burial place of the tsars since Peter the Great, so I guess they wanted something pleasant.
